Victor’s talk “IT Security in the Enterprise: “The False Sense of Security” will present how The false sense of IT security: a silent risk in companies In many organizations, information security is perceived as one more check in a list of completed tasks: “We have antivirus, firewall and strong passwords, we are protected”. This view, although common, represents one of the biggest risks today: the false sense of security. This misperception can lead to dangerous inaction. Key controls are neglected, policies are not updated, personnel are not trained, and actual testing of implemented controls is not performed. In other words, there is blind trust in a system that probably no longer responds to today’s threats. True security is not based on tools alone, but on a proactive culture, constant risk management, and the awareness that the threat is ever-present and evolving.
